Powder River Construction engages in sustainable building practices, with a focus on efficiency in the new space. We use subcontractors who can provide innovative installations of products and systems that use sustainable and green materials and achieve maximum energy efficiency in a home.
Powder River Construction routinely utilizes the following building techniques for homes located in the high country of the Rockies.
• Reward Walls Systems insulated foam blocks are used for the foundation walls. This product has an R-factor of 32 with concrete.
• Closed cell foam insulation is applied to the underside of the roof. This eliminates interior heat from escaping through the roof in the cold months, i.e. ice damming and keeps the solar heat from entering the living space during the warmer months. Cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter results in a comfortable, energy efficient home.
• High efficiency boiler systems are used, which are Energy Star rated.
• Energy efficient windows, which are also Energy Star rated.
• Caulking of all sources of air infiltration.
• Composite decking for all your decks, which are maintenance free.
• All materials that can be recycled are separated.
