Mike Berg

Brookings Location Manager

Mike Berg grew up on a farm near Arlington, South Dakota, where his early experiences in agriculture sparked a lifelong connection to the industry. He went on to earn a degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, which laid the groundwork for a career focused on grain systems and rural infrastructure.

Before joining Summit, Mike spent ten years managing commercial grain terminals, gaining valuable experience in operations, logistics, and customer service. In 2020, he joined Summit Contracting to open and lead the Brookings, South Dakota location. Today, he manages that office and serves as a project manager for grain systems, helping customers bring their ideas to life from planning through installation.

Mike enjoys seeing a concept on paper turn into a finished product on the ground. He thrives in problem-solving and collaborating with customers to deliver reliable, efficient solutions tailored to their farms.

Outside of work, Mike enjoys hunting, camping, and cheering on Jackrabbit athletics. He and his wife, Mandy, are raising two boys, and family time is spent enjoying the outdoors and staying active in the Brookings area.
