Corey Rabenberg

People, Culture, & Leadership

Corey Rabenberg is a proud product of Armour, South Dakota, where community spirit runs deep and shaped his view of leadership. That early influence, along with a career in the military, built his foundation for service, growth, and people-first leadership.

Corey earned a business degree from SDSU and DWU, with a minor in behavioral science. He also graduated from the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy and served 28 years in the South Dakota Army National Guard, including 25 years of active duty. His military experience included roles from recruiter to battalion command sergeant major, all of which shaped his ability to lead with purpose and humility.

Since joining Summit Contracting in 2020, Corey’s role has evolved alongside the company’s rapid growth. Today, he focuses on workforce planning, leadership development, and company culture. His mission is to create an environment where constant improvement and personal growth is the expectation. Being surrounded by hard-working, high-character individuals that bring energy to everything they do, is what Corey enjoys most about working at Summit Contracting.

Corey lives in Platte, South Dakota with his wife Michelle. They have three adult children and one grandchild. Outside of work, Corey enjoys staying active through fitness, hunting, river time with family and friends, attending sporting events, and reading. He values any opportunity to spend quality time with his family and appreciates the balance that both work and home life bring.
